All new chassis is almost finished. A lot more work involved with the head scratching and brain storming to get something different out there without copying anyone else's design. Full steel, same weight as the previous design, but twice as strong due to being full steel as opposed to having an ali base plate. Stay tuned......

Sounds really good Slick. I was planning to try a steel chasis on my next stocky as well, the nitro ones look pretty good. I'm having issues with the ali plate on my last stockcar build, I basically cocked that one up. but lernt what not to do next time. Look forward to seeing the NextGen Slicks. The spame frame I got off you a few years ago inspired me to try making cars too, no where near good as the experienced builders, but fun all the same. You think the new Steel chassis will help strengthwise when/if BL comes in? Thinking ahead

Lol, the new gen Slick chassis is built with the brushless in mind. I give my chassis's an absolute hiding every meeting at home, try to push the boundries and see what brakes or bends next. Lastyear whilst carrying out our illegal trial the chassis's seemed to be getting more of a hammering than usual, and starting to bend in funny places Have just sold my 6nz chassis to a local so i'm stuck now with the new gen slick. Just had it weighed on certified scales (thanks Howard @ Tradezone) and it was 4.023kg with a 4600mah battery pack fitted. So will add a bit more bracing to the car and get it to around 4.3kg. Its not bolted together like the gas cars, but more of a head scratcher to get the donor car in and out of the chassis. Will run it this sunday with the brushed rz motor, and if its any good, I will post up some pics of it. Im pretty confident that it will handle the jandle, but just want to make sure before I show off the first new gen Slick!

Im pretty confident that it will handle the jandle, but just want to make sure before I show off the first new gen Slick! I know that feeling, I was a tad nervous first time I put my last streetie on the track, thought it might fold up and be an EPIC FAIL (especially in front of a crowd at a car show). But it worked ok, and I posted pics after that. Just don't really know if new concepts will work until they take the lickings from our most helpfull co-racers/testers. ;D Especially the big hitters/stirrers, they are the best for testing cars. Re: Steel chassis, hope it works out mate, I love seeing the new chassis designs. I been pondering about getting the weight/strength in the base/bashbars at and below the axle height and lightening the upper frame a bit to improve COG. The last 2 I made where too top heavy I reckon.

Heres the New Generation Slick. Handled mint on the track, and also handled the huge wind offs and smashing it gave on sunday. The super low c o g helped heaps too, it didnt want to do a Wayne Hemi on me! I did however smoke another rz, and I wasnt using the brakes either (please excuse the doggy old body, new one still unpainted or signwritten)

That picture is a shocker slick ;D except for that this would have to be the best rc chassis design yet and has the resemblance of a real stockcar chassis except you need to use key steel and run a wing hahaha

Well with the old chassis design, I had given up running wings. Maybe on the new beast I will run a shark fin?
