Great turn out in all classes today, and we were still missing a few locals.
Stockcars:
Lots of bashing and crashing today. Tony 14m had make the trip down, and was mixing it up big time! Counted no less than four roll overs, and they were big rollovers! The 14m getting the warm welcome from the Gissy boys! But he gave as good as he got, and also grabbed race 2 win.
Hazel was running the 13t yeah racing brushless system, as were Slick, Mike and Howard. With the different power delivery, Hazel found himself out by the wall a few times, which opened him up for attack. Slick did just that, and fired him out twice during the day. Paybacks a bitch, Hazel getting his own back on Slick, the 7g car taking a huge serve to tip it over the fence. Hazel is still unable to crack his personal best lap time, or crack the lap record with the brushless setup.
Howard was coming to grips with the brushless setup, and was turning some good laps. Grabbed a couple of top three placings, also grabbed some "out of track time"
Mike had his spank'n new Slick tt-01e on debut, and it got christened in the first heat by Slick, getting smashed out of the track after a few laps. Mike made a few changes to the car for the next heats, and had it cranked up. Must be happy with the days results.
Callum made a welcome return, with work commitments keeping him in Wairoa he missed a few rounds. Had a mixed day, the car had good pace, but was plauged by a dodgey servo, making cornering a bit tough. Also missed race 2 due to the car battery going flat...bugger!
Jordan had a good run in the 19g machine. Car has wicked pace, and handling good. Got to exit the track courtesy of Slick, and ended up at Howards feet!
Slick won the first heat, and pretty muched stirred for the day, attacking at will. Good fun!
Streetstocks:
The usual crash and bash today, Slick taking the first heat, and Callum taking the other three heats. Hazel had a consistent 2nd place for all the heats in his hq. Tony had the 14m hq on fire, but unfortunatley the transponder was not in the car. He goes good here, and mixes it up! Pop had the ex 2nz Mackie valiant turning laps, and was pot shotting anyone who got close. Swaine had the bmw police car pumping, he was ducking and diving through the traffic, that elusive race win is calling his name! Ryan was out to bash, putting some big hits, you definatley have to think twice before you pass him. Quickly becoming the danger man in the group. Jonny Morley drove the 2nz car for the final heat. Picked up Hazel and fed him into turn 3 hard, was quite impressive! Lets hope he can get his own streetstock built for the new year.
Touring cars;
Good turn out for these guys today, with a lot of new faces. Racing was fast, and between Foong, Bryce and Mike (the only cars running transponders) the racing was super close. With the third heat being won by Bryce, from Mike by 0.5 sec. Racing for these guys is 4 mins 30 secs. Just goes to show how competitive this class is.
